Can Roles and Boundaries Hours Count Toward Ethics in Washington?

No. Washington requires 2 hours of professional roles and boundaries every two years, taken separately from the 6 hours of professional ethics and law (WAC 246-809-630). A training can include ethics-related content and still be a roles and boundaries training, but the same hours cannot be claimed for both requirements.

How to tell what you're buying

Look for a training that names the roles and boundaries requirement and the rule behind it. A combined program, such as a supervision intensive, should teach the two topics in separate blocks and report the hours separately.
