This course is being built to meet the Washington State Department of Health continuing education requirement for Professional Roles and Boundaries in full, in accordance with RCW 18.130.180 and WAC 246-809-630, at the two hours Washington requires. The final hour count is confirmed against the finished course before launch. The Department of Health does not approve or endorse individual CE providers, so each clinician confirms their own hours against WAC 246-809-600 through 246-809-650 when they report.

Most roles and boundaries CE in Washington is taught as statute review and disciplinary risk management. This training covers the same requirement and teaches it through consent, power, positionality, and the organizational systems clinicians actually work inside, using a systemic and anti-oppressive lens. You leave with language for the gray zones rather than a list of things not to do.

Washington requires 6 hours of professional ethics and law every two years and 2 hours of professional roles and boundaries every two years, and the roles and boundaries hours must be taken separately from ethics. This training includes ethics-related content and carries AASECT ethics-eligible credit, and it is built to satisfy the roles and boundaries requirement specifically.

Licensed and pre-licensed clinicians including LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, LASW, LMHCA, and LMFTA, along with supervisors, clinical directors, group practice clinicians, and community mental health providers.

Washington licenses social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists under the same statute, RCW 18.225, and the same continuing education rules, chapter 246-809 WAC. WAC 246-809-620 lists the organizations whose approval makes a continuing education activity acceptable, and the National Board for Certified Counselors is among them. Your social work requirements are the same 32 hours every two years, including 2 hours of professional roles and boundaries, 6 hours of professional ethics and law, 2 hours of health equity every four years, and 6 hours of suicide assessment every six years. This course is being built to carry 2 NBCC continuing education hours under ACEP No. 7776, and 2 AASECT continuing education credits under Provider No. 25-0609-LI, including ethics-related content, confirmed before launch. Completion of the full on-demand course and a required quiz is needed for a certificate. It is the responsibility of each learner to determine whether their state licensing board will accept these credits.
